My model Daphne is in pieces getting ready to pull herself together. This is painted on canvas in the Renaissance palette of flake white, yellow ochre, red oxide and blue black using a palette knife. I choose this palette as a juxtaposition with the plastic modern mannequin. These colors were used for real people portraits. I wanted to see what it would do in a modern still life.
